HALOFUN PTE. LTD. ("HALOFUN," "we," "us," or "our") provides the MeloShort application and related services. We recognize that your privacy is very important, and we take it seriously. Your privacy and trust are important to us, and we are committed to being transparent about the information we collect and how we use it. This Privacy Policy describes our practices regarding the access, collection, use, disclosure, sharing, retention, and deletion of personal information and device data when you access or use our website, the MeloShort application, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). HALOFUN PTE. LTD. is responsible for the processing of personal information described in this Privacy Policy.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the MeloShort Services.

1. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with MeloShort, your device settings, and the features you use.
1.1 Device Information and Identifiers
We may collect device and network information needed to operate, secure, analyze, and improve the Services. This may include device type, device manufacturer and model, operating system and version, app version, application identifier, distribution channel, language, time zone, network type, IP address, screen resolution, technical performance information, and app installation source.
The Android app declares the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission and may access the Google Advertising ID (GAID). We and our advertising, attribution, and analytics partners may use GAID for advertising measurement, attribution, analytics, fraud prevention, and, where permitted by applicable law and your consent choices, personalized advertising. GAID is a resettable advertising identifier. You can reset or delete it and manage advertising preferences in your Android device settings.
We do not use persistent hardware identifiers, such as Android ID or IMEI, to create an advertising profile or link them to your advertising behavior.
1.2 Account, Authentication, and Log Information
If you create or use an account, we may collect information associated with that account, such as your nickname, email address, user identifier, authentication information, and account preferences. We may also collect technical logs such as IP address, browser or app information, language, request date and time, crash information, and security events.
If you sign in through a third-party account such as Google or Apple, we receive information authorized by you and provided by that service, such as your name, email address, and account identifier. You can manage MeloShort's access through the relevant third-party account settings.
If you use the Services without signing in, we may associate preferences and usage information with an app instance or other pseudonymous identifier so that the Services function consistently across sessions.
1.3 Network-Based Location Information
MeloShort does not request or collect precise GPS location data. We may infer a general country or approximate region from information such as your IP address, time zone, language, or network settings to provide regional content, comply with licensing obligations, prevent fraud, and comply with applicable law.
1.4 Information from Third Parties and Partners
We may receive information from service providers and business partners, including authentication providers, analytics services, attribution providers, advertising partners, and content-delivery providers. This may include referral source, advertising interactions, campaign and attribution information, service performance information, and information authorized through social sign-in.
1.5 Usage, Analytics, and Performance Information
We collect information about how you use the Services, such as content viewed, viewing progress, feature usage, searches, clicks, in-app events, session frequency, download source, crashes, diagnostics, and aggregated performance statistics. We use this information to operate the Services, understand usage, improve performance, personalize content, and measure the effectiveness of our features and marketing.
1.6 Push Notifications
MeloShort uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver notifications such as service announcements, new drama updates, special releases, and content recommendations. On Android 13 and later, MeloShort requests the android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS runtime permission before sending non-exempt notifications.
The notification permission itself is not used for background data collection or cross-app tracking. You can decline the permission or turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and administer the Services.
- Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and maintain account security.
- Remember preferences and provide personalized content and recommendations.
- Send service-related communications, security alerts, support responses, and, with your permission, marketing messages and push notifications.
- Measure advertising and marketing performance, attribute installations, and provide advertising in accordance with your consent choices and applicable law.
- Analyze usage, troubleshoot errors, improve features and algorithms, and develop new functionality.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our terms.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.
You may opt out of marketing emails by contacting [email protected], disable push notifications in your device settings, and manage advertising choices through your device and any consent controls made available in the app.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information with service providers and partners that process information on our behalf or provide functions necessary to operate MeloShort, including authentication, analytics, attribution, advertising, push notification, content delivery, and security services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of assets with appropriate safeguards.

4. Advertising and Your Choices
MeloShort and its partners may use GAID and information about your interactions with the Services to measure advertising, attribute app installations, prevent advertising fraud, and, where permitted, provide advertising based on your interests. Where required by law, we request consent before using information for personalized advertising or related tracking.
You can manage or withdraw applicable consent choices in the app where available. You can also manage GAID and advertising controls through your Android device settings. Limiting personalized advertising does not necessarily reduce the number of advertisements you receive, but the advertisements may be less relevant.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, loss, or disclosure. These measures include encrypted transmission using HTTPS where information is sent over the internet, access controls, and restrictions on access to personal information. No internet transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain account and security records, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce agreements, and comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
The retention period depends on the type of information, the purpose for which it was collected, account status, sensitivity, applicable legal requirements, and operational needs. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it. Information may remain temporarily in protected backups until those backups are overwritten according to our backup cycle. Aggregated or anonymized information that can no longer reasonably identify you may be retained for analytics and service improvement.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- Object to or request restriction of certain processing, including direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Request a portable copy of eligible personal information.

8. Account and Data Deletion
If you no longer wish to use MeloShort, you can request deletion of your account and associated data through either method below:
- In the app: Open MeloShort and use the available Delete Account option in the account settings.
- On the web: Submit a deletion request through the MeloShort account deletion request form.
After we receive and verify a valid request, we will delete or de-identify the account and personal information associated with it, including account profile information, viewing history associated with the account, and other account-linked content, except information that must be retained for legitimate purposes such as legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement of agreements. Information retained for these purposes will be limited to what is necessary, protected from other uses, and kept only for the period required by the applicable purpose or law.
Deleting an account is permanent. After deletion is completed, the account cannot be reactivated and account-linked content may no longer be accessible.
9. Children's Privacy
MeloShort is not intended for children under 13 or the minimum legal age required in the user's jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to MeloShort, please contact [email protected], and we will take appropriate steps to investigate and delete the information where required.
Users between 13 and the legal age of majority may use the Services only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.
10. International Data Processing
HALOFUN PTE. LTD. and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and process information in accordance with applicable data-protection laws.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will publish the revised policy on this page and update the "Last Updated" date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent for material changes.
